Happy hump day mums and dads. We hope your week is going well and that you and your little ones are making the best of the week. We’ve got our daily download of sanity saving tips to help you get over the hump.

  • Make some sock puppets, this is an oldie but a goodie, you and the kids can be as creative with this as you want. Sock bunnies, sock monsters, sock dinosaurs, sock cheeseburgers. Whatever you can dream about you can create. Head on over to Sock City for some inspo.

  • Bake some fresh cakes, this is an obvious one but I discovered a twist this week. My local farm has a food shop which means it stays open during lockdown. We go to buy duck eggs from the shop and the kids get a little bit of fun at the farm with the animals. Not to mention duck eggs make the fluffiest Victoria sponge.

  • If like me you struggle to get the kids to give up the screen time codeakid have a comprehensive list of the best coding games for kids. If they must play on the computer, they might as well learn a skill while doing it.

  • Help your child learn math at home with mathalink activity cubes. These are fun and engaging and will keep your little one happy while they learn.

  • Build a mud kitchen. This keeps younger kids entertained for hours, although you might need to eat a mud pie or two. It’s a great way to get them out in the fresh air.
